Getting started
Krosos tracks your net worth: every holding you own (and owe) becomes a line with a quantity and a price, and the dashboard adds them up into one number you can watch over time. Four steps take you from an empty instance to a populated dashboard.
1. Add your data
Pick whichever path fits, you can do the others later:
- Smart AI import: copy the provided prompt into any AI assistant together with a spreadsheet or broker statement; it returns a CSV you paste back. See Import & Export.
- Connect accounts: sync balances from a bank, exchange, wallet, or broker. Keys are stored encrypted and are write-only; see API keys and Bank connection setup.
- Add manually: enter holdings one at a time. A holding is the current position (quantity + what you invested); you don't need the trade history to begin.
- Explore demo data: load a sample portfolio to look around. Loading a demo replaces your data (you'll be asked first), and one click removes it again.
2. Give every holding a price
A holding only counts toward your net worth once it has a price. Common tickers are fetched automatically; anything else (a house, a watch, a niche fund) needs a price typed once on the Prices tab. Lines without a price show a "No price" badge, and by default tabs hide lines with no value, so a freshly added, unpriced holding may be tucked behind the "Show hidden lines" note until you price it.
3. Read the dashboard
The Dashboard shows your headline numbers, the net-worth trend (built up day by day once holdings have prices), allocation donuts, and the per-line table. The Balance Sheet view breaks the same data down with cost basis and P/L per line.
4. Record what happens next
- Log buys, sells, and transfers as trades; see Trade Entry.
- Automate a monthly buy with a recurring rule, or let connected accounts sync themselves.
- Optional extras when you're ready: Forecast projections, Tax estimates, allocation targets with drift alerts, and email or Telegram updates.
