Bank connection setup

Connecting a bank goes through Enable Banking, a service that links to EU banks. You register your own free Enable Banking app rather than sharing one, so it can only ever see the accounts you choose to link. It's a one-time setup of about two minutes; after that, connecting a bank is just the normal login-and-approve flow.

Bank connection setup in Krosos

How to use

  1. Go to Settings → Sources, click Add connection, and choose Bank. If you haven't set up your app yet, the setup wizard opens.
  2. On the first screen, follow the steps to register your app in Enable Banking. Open API applications → Add a new application there, set the environment to Production, and choose the key option Generate outside the browser and import public certificate.
  3. Click Generate. The wizard creates a certificate for you. Copy it and paste it into Enable Banking's Public certificate box. (Ignore the openssl commands Enable Banking shows.)
  4. Copy the remaining values the wizard provides into the matching Enable Banking fields: Application name, Allowed redirect URLs, Application description, Email for data protection matters, Privacy URL, and Terms URL. The redirect URL must match exactly.
  5. Press Register in Enable Banking, then click Continue in the wizard.
  6. On the second screen, copy your new app's Application ID (shown on its row under API applications) and paste it into the wizard.
  7. In Enable Banking, click Activate by linking accounts, choose the country, bank, and usage type, and click Link for every account you want to track. Only linked accounts can be accessed.
  8. Click Continue to connect, pick the same bank here, and complete your bank's secure login. Your balances import into your assets.

To change your certificate or app ID later, choose Bank again and use Reconfigure bank app.
