Krosos on your desktop

The whole app runs on your own computer. Your financial data never leaves it, and nobody, not even us, can see it. Same product as hosted: exchange & wallet sync, the tax engine, price updates, export. €60/year, 14-day free trial.

Install on macOS

Beta · Mac with Apple Silicon · requires Homebrew (a free developer tool). The app isn't notarized yet, so you clear Gatekeeper once. The two lines below do it.

brew install --cask Krosos/krosos/krosos
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Krosos.app
open -a Krosos

The first run gives you a full 14-day trial. To keep it after that, open Settings → Billing and subscribe (or paste a key you already have). A one-click signed installer is on the way.

Why desktop?

How is this more private than hosted?

On the hosted plan your data lives in a database of your own on our servers and, like any hosted service, our operator can technically access the infrastructure. On desktop there is no server of ours at all: the app and its database live only on your own computer, so there is nothing for us to access. It's the honest answer to "can the operator read my data": no.

Do I still get price updates and sync?

Yes. The app fetches prices and can sync exchanges and wallets directly from your machine using your own API keys. The only things that need the internet are those fetches and the once-a-day license check; everything else works offline.

What about backups and other devices?

Your data is a single file you own. Back it up like any file, and move it to another Mac anytime (your license covers one Mac at a time). If you'd rather we handle backups and reach it from any device (and use the Telegram bot), that's the hosted plan.

Windows or Intel Macs?

Not yet. This beta is Apple Silicon only. Windows is planned. In the meantime the hosted plan works in any browser.
