Who builds Krosos

Krosos is made by Thomas Heremans, working as Vulpra Consulting SRL, a company registered in Belgium. It is a small operation: one person builds the product, answers the support address and decides what ships.

It brings everything a European investor owns and owes into one current figure: stocks, cash, funds, property and crypto, minus the mortgage and loans, with capital gains matched to your lots and a forecast on top, in a private database of your own.

Why we can write about tax

The capital-gains engine is the part of Krosos that took the most care to get right, and the tax articles here are written by the person who implemented it rather than by someone summarising a circular.

Building it meant settling the questions that only show up once real numbers have to come out: matching every disposal to the specific lots it came from under FIFO or weighted average; keeping capital gains, dividends and interest apart so each is taxed at its own rate; applying an annual exemption to the year's net result rather than to individual sales; implementing the Belgian 2026 reset to 31 December 2025 values together with the transitional higher-of rule that runs to 2030; working out what a position's remaining cost basis is when part of it was sold years ago; and deciding what to report when a cost is genuinely unknown, which is to count it as zero, flag it, and never quietly understate what is owed.

Presets for Belgium, Belgium in a company, France and Germany all have to produce figures that survive being checked line by line, because each one is traceable back to the trades behind it. The same engine produces our own Belgian tax reporting.

That is engineering experience, not an accounting qualification. Krosos does not give tax or investment advice, and its figures are estimates to bring to your accountant or your declaration. Where a rule is genuinely unclear for your situation, we say so instead of guessing.
